Watch our step by step video on how to create and automate Google Business Profile posts:

Overview

The Google Business Profile (GBP) Posts feature lets you create posts for your Google Business Profile with the help of AI β€” either one at a time, or fully automated on a publishing schedule.

Prerequisites

Before you can create posts, you need to connect the Google account that has access to your Google Business Profiles.

  1. Go to the Business Profile tab.

  2. Click Connect.

  3. Grant the requested permissions.

  4. Arvow will fetch all of the Google Business Profiles linked to that account.

Once connected, open the GBP Posts feature. You'll see two tabs: Automation and Posts.

Creating a Single Post

  1. Open the Posts tab.

  2. Click Create Post.

  3. In the What should this post focus on? field, describe what you want the post to be about.

  4. Click Generate Draft β€” the AI will write the post for you.

  5. (Optional) Add an AI-generated image by describing the image you want.

  6. Edit the text manually if you'd like to fine-tune it.

Post Types

Google Business Profiles support three post types. Choose the one that fits your content:

Type

What it's for

Update

News, tips, or product highlights

Event

Something happening on specific dates

Offer

A promotion or deal

Publishing

When your post is ready, you have two options:

  • Publish: the post goes live on your Google Business Profile immediately.

  • Save as draft: the post is saved as a draft inside your Google Business Profile, so you can review and publish it from there.

Automating Your Posts

If you'd rather have posts published automatically on a schedule, use the Automation tab.

  1. Open the Automation tab.

  2. Click Create Automation.

  3. Give your automation a name.

  4. Choose your publishing mode:

    • Review first β€” posts are created as drafts so you can approve them before they go live.

    • Full automation β€” posts are published directly to your Google Business Profile.

  5. Click Continue.

Adding Business Context

Giving the AI context about your business helps it write posts that actually sound like you.

  • Knowledge Base assets: add files and assets about your business.

  • Brand Brief: add background on your brand, tone, and positioning.

  • Content Guidance: add any extra instructions you want applied to these specific posts.

πŸ“˜ The more context you give, the more tailored your posts will be. If you haven't set up your Knowledge Base yet, there's a separate tutorial covering it.

Click Continue when you're done.

Schedule and Post Settings

  1. Choose how often posts should be published:

    • Every day

    • Every 2 days

    • Every 3 days

    • Every week

  2. Customize the button on your posts (e.g. Learn more).

  3. Add the CTA link: the page you want your posts to send people to.

  4. Choose whether posts should include images.

  5. Toggle Start after creating if you want the automation to begin right away.

  6. Click Create: your automation will start publishing updates to your Google Business Profile.

FAQs

Q: Do I need to connect my Google account before creating posts?
Yes. Connect the Google account that manages your Business Profiles first, otherwise Arvow has nothing to publish to.

Q: Can I edit an AI-generated post before publishing?
Yes. The draft is fully editable β€” you can rewrite any part of it manually.

Q: What's the difference between the two publishing modes?
In review mode, posts are saved as drafts on your Google Business Profile so you can check them before they're visible. In full automation, posts go live automatically with no review step.

Q: Can I run automations for more than one Business Profile?
Arvow fetches all the profiles connected to your Google account, so you can work with any of them.

Q: Do automated posts include images?
Only if you enable the image option when setting up the automation.
